Date: 1951. Century: XX. Period: Contemporary. The Lázaro Galdiano museum opened its doors in 1951 in the Palacio de Parque Florido, a beautiful Renaissance-style building. It houses one of the best private collections of art in our country, with the peculiarity that it is not limited to painting and sculpture, but also collects samples of ivories, enamels, votive offerings, silverware, jewelry ... A great variety of objects that can be seen on the ground floor of the museum. In the other two floors, painting is the protagonist: an enormous amount of works that reviews the history of Spanish and world art. A total of 750 works of art that make up the bulk of the collection, predominantly European paintings from the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries, including some works by Francisco de Goya, such as The Burial of Christ, The Age, The Coven and The coniuro. Other authors represented are Berruguete, El Bosco, Zurbarán and Murillo.
