Descripción Datos de contacto

Fundación MAPFRE is a non-profit institution that was founded in 1975. Through its Culture Area, it organizes a wide-ranging programme of exhibitions which, always in quest of unusual standpoints, presents artists and movements of key importance in the history of modern art and the modern world. From Impressionism to Surrealism and from Rusiñol and Odilon Redon to Picasso and Giacometti, for over twenty years it has been offering an essential overview of the milestones in the art of our modern times. In addition to this, since 2009 Fundación MAPFRE has been organizing a very ambitious programme of major photography exhibitions that seeks to present the work of great names who have not previously been seen in our country. This historic view of the outstanding figures in contemporary photography is complemented by shows of figures who have reached their first maturity and achieved international prestige without yet having held a major retrospective of their work. Fundación MAPFRE possesses a valuable art collection that comprises at present some two thousand five hundred works, primarily in the fields of drawing and photography.
