The 12nf year of this festival brings great Spanish and international artists, master classes and activities for jazz lovers to Palma.
Palma is a city enamoured of jazz, as one can see from the success and quality of the previous ten years the Jazz Voyeur Festival has been held here. An event that has been attended by important figures such as Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Chick Corea, Diana Krall, Ute Lemper, Richar Bona, Dave Holland or Michael Brecker, to mention just a few.
In the 2018 edition, the genre was represented, mainly, by the famous The Original Blues Brothers, known for their films The Blues Brothers and Blues Brothers 2000, and for their triple platinum album Briefcase Full of Blues. The public could also enjoy the performance of the Cuban pianist, composer and arranger Chucho Valdés, accompanied by Yelsy Heredia, double bass, Dreiser Durruthy Bombalé and Yaroldy Abreu Robles. The final climax to the festival was put by Salvador Sobral with an emotional concert in which the Portuguese musician, winner of the Eurovision festival in 2017, made several winks to the Mallorcan public remembering his stage on the Island. All the performances were held under the Contemporary production and organization.
The concerts for the 2019 festival will be held from October to December in different theatres around Palma. As in previous years, in parallel master classes will be given and activities held for musicians and spectators. The full programme can be consulted on the festival’s website.
