The Torrent de Pareis begins in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, in the area known as S’Entreforc, where the torrents of Gorg Blau and Lluc converge. Its course forms a 3-kilometre-long canyon encased in walls of rock standing up to 200 m high, with a wealth of caves and chasms. A mythical place for hikers, but also for naturalists, as it is the habitat of the Mallorcan midwife toad, an amphibian that lives nowhere else in the world.

The mouth of the torrent forms the spectacular, pebbly beach of Sa Calobra, which can be accessed by sea on boats that depart from Port de Sóller, or by land, along a road with several 180º bends and one 360º bend. In summer a choral concert is held on the beach, taking advantage of the site’s magnificent acoustics.
