In the Binissalem Designation of Origin, the wine has sculpted the landscape, the architecture and our culture.

A privileged region located in the heart of the island of Mallorca, protected by the Serra de Tramuntana, where the characteristics of soil and climate are ideal for growing native grape varietie snd where wines of differentiated quality are produced.

This DO includes the municipalities of Santa Maria del Camí, Consell, Binissalem, Santa Eugènia and Sencelles on a plain at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, a mountain range providing shelter from frosts and the chilly north winds. The soil here is excellent for winegrowing, with a typically Mediterranean climate and rains mainly in the autumn. Grapes are one of this area's most widely grown crops, and almond, carob, fig and olive trees are also cultivated.

The main grapes used to make this DO's white, rosé and red still wines and sparkling wines are the Muscatel and the local Manto negro and Moll varieties. The wines here have a Mediterranean character with subtle fruity aromas and varietal overtones from the local grape varieties and the terroir. They are unique wines produced by small and medium-sized wineries of family tradition.
