Barcelona’s Grec Festival is the city’s biggest entertainment event, with theatre, dance, music and circus.
This is a festival of long-standing tradition: in 2021 it celebrated the 44th edition. In fact, it is now not only the foremost cultural attraction of the Barcelona summer but an outstanding event on the European calendar of festivals as well.
In its last edition, held from June 27 to July 31, the Grec had nearly a hundred proposals in 40 spaces in the city of Barcelona and 28 parallel activities in 20 more spaces.
With its 44 years of history, the Grec Festival of Barcelona is the leading entertainment producer in Catalonia. It has a twofold mission: to support local performing arts activities, hosting some of the best creations of Catalan art collectives and of individual artists, and to act as a window on the world, presenting the most interesting international productions. Indeed, the Grec is also Barcelona’s most important showcase of cultural proposals from abroad.
