Chinchón, located in the southeastern part of the Region of Madrid, has a strikingly beautiful main square: it is a classic irregular medieval space surrounded by porticoed houses that has taken shape over the course of various periods and has been the scene of important historical events. Additionally, April is when Holy Week is celebrated and in Chinchón it has been declared a Festival of National Touristic Interest so this is a very good time to visit the town. Be sure to try some of the typical products of Chinchón, including its anisette, lamb, garlic and crafted cheeses.
