For centuries the port has been a meeting place of cultures and passenger from all over the world. A cosmopolitan nature reflected today in the numerous restaurants scattered around Marina Botafoch, Marina Ibiza and the quay of the town’s most seafaring neighbourhood, La Marina.

In Marina Botafoch we find A Son de Mar, with a sublime menu of rice dishes, paellas and fideuás, embellished with touches of fusion from other cultures and delicious starters. The Ferrer family have run Barlovento since 1987, a comfortable establishment where one can enjoy extraordinary breakfasts, authentic Spanish tapas and the best traditional food from Ibiza.

Lovers of Italian cuisine have several options. Il Giardinetto is a classic indeed, famous for its Italian dishes and a delicious variety of pizzas. At Trattoria del Mar, the brothers Antonio, Luciano y Alessandro d’Ambrosio prepare Neapolitan-style cuisine with an avant-garde touch and exquisite homemade pastas accompanied by Spanish and Italian wines.

It Ibiza is the fashionable club lounge where chef Gennarino Esposito, who has two Michelin stars, turns out the best flavours of Mediterranean cuisine, which are combined with an extensive list of cocktails and wines from the best bodegas. Los Pasajeros, with its wonderful outdoor terrace, offers tempting set menus at lunchtime, à la carte dishes in the evening and at weekends and a wide variety of pizzas prepared by a Neapolitan cook. The French touch is afforded by La Terrasse Botafoch, where one can try the delightful cuisine of Arnaud Carrel, with a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, as well as drinks, on a splendid terrace.

Temakinho Brasil blends Brazilian and Japanese cuisine, light, fresh and nutritional dishes adapted to tropical ingredients including – outstandingly – the Temaki. At Just Fish Ibiza, customers choose their own fresh fish and seafood, which are weighed and cooked in their presence. And sushi lovers have a data at any time of day with Sushi Point Ibiza, which offers a lounge and terrace where the best music is always playing.

Marina Ibiza has more proposals to offer. Blue Marlin Ibiza is an extension of one of the most famous beach clubs on the island, a meeting place for luxury breakfasts, cocktails and champagne in the evening or oriental and Mediterranean-inspired dinners. Lío Restaurante Club Cabaret combines an exclusive dinner with a live show by famous artists, to experience Ibiza’s most elegant, wittiest night.

Cappuccino Grand Café is a perfect place for meeting at any time of day, with excellent breakfasts, lunches, dinners or cocktails. Facing Dalt Vila, Calma Bistró beckons one to relax from morning to night, enjoying its Mediterranean cuisine. And in the grounds of the yacht club stands the restaurant of the Club Náutico Ibiza, where you can enjoy genuine Mediterranean cuisine in a central location with views of the ancient walled city.

Mediterranean flavour
On the white island, the products of the sea shape a universe of grilled fish dishes or are included in rice dishes, soups, fritters, cocas or casseroles. Octopus is prepared with onion or as the main ingredient of frit de polp, chopped and fried with potatoes and vegetables. Squid are cooked in batter or stuffed with meat or fish. The wings of the skate are eaten marinated and fried, and this fish is also the main ingredient of the unbeatable borrida de rajada. The highly-prized raor, or pearly razorfish, with its delicate, white and exquisite flesh, is eaten coated in flour and fried. Of the seafood, the lobster is king, stewed Ibizan-style or à la marinière, preceded by soup and accompanied with alioli.
