At the age of just sixteen, Louis Vuitton made a decision that would change his life and that of his descendants: to become a master artisan creator of trunks. In 1837 he arrived in Paris and started working as an apprentice for Monsieur Maréchal, and seventeen years later he opened his own workshop in the Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, near the Place Vendome. And this was how the great empire of accessories associated to the most exclusive luxury for men and women came into being, which is now located in the central Passeig del Born in Palma.
