The Colón Tourist Center, by Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza, is a key starting point when it comes to touring our city. Visitors will find extensive and varied tourist and cultural information about the capital, all while enjoying its prime location. The centre for tourist information is located in the former underground passage of Plaza de Colón. The uniqueness of this space resides in its thoroughfare for pedestrians, including public services such as tourist information and customer service, all integrated in a major architectural project. The centre has a large open skylight on the surface of the Plaza de Colón, providing natural light that shines directly into a water wall and a courtyard, both located in the central area of the passage.
